Meet Our Board

The Gleason School Association is guided by a volunteer board of officers who give their time to support our students, staff, and families. Each board member helps turn the GSA's mission into action — from the classroom to the ballfield and everywhere in between.

President

The President leads the Gleason School Association and serves as the official voice of the GSA at school and in the community.

Duties

  • Preside over all board and general meetings and set agendas.
  • Send reminders and updates to students, staff, and families.
  • Serve as the official representative of the GSA.
  • Maintain communication with Gleason School officials.
  • Keep member information, email lists, teacher/staff lists, and student numbers up to date.
  • Retain all official records of the association.

Vice-President

The Vice-President supports the President and steps in to lead whenever the President is unable to attend.

Duties

  • Preside over meetings when the President is absent.
  • Help organize committees and build membership.
  • Maintain a list of donors and sponsors.
  • Send thank-you cards and appreciation notes to supporters.

Recording Secretary

The Recording Secretary keeps the official record of every meeting and helps keep the GSA community informed.

Duties

  • Record minutes at all meetings and distribute them to officers.
  • Post general meeting minutes in the GSA Facebook Group.
  • Assist with agendas for all meetings.
  • Retain all official records of the association.
  • Help manage GSA social media accounts.

Treasurer

The Treasurer safeguards the GSA's funds and ensures every dollar is tracked and reported responsibly.

Duties

  • Receive all funds and pay out approved expenses.
  • Keep accurate records of receipts and expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and present them at meetings.
  • Present a full year-end report at the final meeting of the year.
  • Prepare the next school year's budget with help from the board.
  • Work with the Audit Committee on the year-end audit.
  • Handle all financial paperwork as needed.

Family Enrichment Chair

The Family Enrichment Chair creates opportunities for families to connect, fundraise, and have fun together.

Duties

  • Work with committee members to plan fundraisers for the GSA (e.g., Penny Wars, bed sheet orders, blankets, candy grams).
  • Plan family events such as the Daddy/Daughter Dance and Mom/Son Night.
  • Present ideas at board meetings and give updates at general meetings.

Student Enrichment Chair

The Student Enrichment Chair makes sure students feel celebrated and supported throughout the school year.

Duties

  • Work with committee members to plan student events such as Bulldog Day.
  • Coordinate student treats for TCAP testing, graduation, ACT, Field Day, and student competitions.
  • Manage booster-club activities including season passes, sports programs, and concessions.
  • Schedule concessions, order food, manage the cash box, make deposits, and pay bills.

Staff Enrichment Chair

The Staff Enrichment Chair makes sure Gleason School teachers and staff know how much the community appreciates them.

Duties

  • Work with committee members to run "Woot-Woot Wagons" and back-to-school breakfasts.
  • Plan Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, Christmas gifts, and retiring teacher gifts.
  • Organize membership incentives and staff recognition.
  • Present ideas at board meetings.

Audit & Nomination Chair

The Audit & Nomination Chair helps ensure the GSA's financial accountability and a smooth leadership transition each year.

Duties

  • Work with committee members to audit the books annually.
  • Present the slate of officers at the end of each school year.
  • Help prepare the budget for the following school year.
